Eligibility

A woman is eligible to be an ordinary member of the Association if she is –

(a) admitted to practice as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of any State or Territory of the Commonwealth of Australia, or in any part of the Commonwealth of Nations; or​

(b) is a graduate in Law of any University within the Commonwealth of Australia.

Only women (including anyone who identifies as a woman) are eligible for Ordinary Membership and Student Membership.

However, any person (male, female or other) is eligible for Associate Membership if they:
(a) support and uphold the objectives of Tasmanian Women Lawyers; and
(b) are admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in any State or Territory of the Commonwealth of Australia; or hold the equivalent status in any other jurisdiction; or
(c) are a graduate in Law of any University within the Commonwealth of Australia.

If you are not a woman, do not identify as a woman, identify as non-binary, or would prefer not to state your gender, we would be glad to accept your application for Associate Membership.
